Didoi in Russia

Muslim Didoi have lived on the edge over the past couple of decades. Their language is named ‘Tsez.' Their location in the southwest corner of Dagestan became "the edge" of Russia when the Soviet Union broke up in 1991. Internal power factors in Dagestan left them on "the edge" of Dagestani life. In 2012-13 mysterious fires started breaking out in a number of mountain Didoi villages, devastating whole villages. On top of that, most Didoi have built their villages on ridge edges with houses stacked vertically on top of each other. One burned out village, Khutrakh, by translation literally means "The Edge."

Ministry Obstacles
Didoi practice Sunni Islam. It is an integral part of their identity. It will take a miracle of the Lord for them to open their hearts to the gospel of grace. Currently, there are no known followers of Jesus among the Didoi.

Scripture Focus
"I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me."  Hosea 5:15

Scripture Prayer
Pray that the troubles of this people group cause them to seek the Lord and find Him.

Prayer Focus
Didoi are known as the Eagle People. Pray that the grace of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit will help them rise up with wings as eagles, to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint (Isa. 40:31). Pray for a movement of the Holy Spirit that will result in church plants and disciples who will teach other disciples the word of God.
