Naikda in India
NIKE-duh
The Naikda, possibly the poorest of the poor, are disdained by neighbors and plagued with alcoholism. Most live without electricity or indoor plumbing. They are a Scheduled tribal group living across multiple states and speaking regional languages. Scheduled groups receive governmental aid for education, business, and employment. Most live in rural areas and work in agriculture. At one time, some were landowners as well as hunter-gatherers. However, once non-tribal people increasingly moved into their areas, the mostly illiterate Naikda lost land ownership.
Ministry Obstacles
The Naikda are Hindu while also practicing folk religion and animism. The Naikdas worship multiple Hindu gods rather than the one true God.

Pray that while the Naikda seek basic physical provisions, God would bless them with the abundant spiritual provisions that he has promised to anyone who is willing to accept his guidance.
