Ghulam in Pakistan

The Ghulam trace their roots to the Mughal Empire, a powerful Muslim empire in the Indian subcontinent from the 16th century to the 18th century. You may recognize that name ‘Mughal' from the term it spawned for someone who is a powerful person in a particular industry – a mogul.

Ministry Obstacles
The Ghulam weren't powerful themselves – they were servants and caretakers for the Mughal nobility. They blended into society while keeping their cultural identity and separate social gatherings. Many work in agriculture, labor, and small-scale trades to support their families. Unfortunately, many families live in poverty, struggling to improve their living standards. The Ghulam need sustainable economic opportunities, better educational infrastructure for their children, and access to reliable healthcare. Helping them emerge out of poverty and providing financial and healthcare access could be key to reaching them.

Scripture Focus
"From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth"  Psalm 104:13-14

Scripture Prayer
Pray for this people group to be amazed at His abundant blessings!

Prayer Focus
The Ghulam are Sunni Muslims, and because of their location in Pakistan and Bangladesh, they have little access to Christ followers who can bring them a true understanding of Jesus. Pray for people with a servant heart who know what it is to be thought of as lesser than others, to go to the Ghalum. May they find creative ways for them to understand that Jesus is the servant king for all nations.
