Peripheral Mongolian in China

The Mongols of Inner Mongolia are known for their resilience in the face of harsh winters and for their deep connection to the land and animals they raise. Traditionally, they have lived in yurts, herding livestock and training horses that are central to their way of life. Children learn to ride almost as soon as they can walk, and horsemanship is a source of pride passed from generation to generation. With as many as 60 Mongol subgroups, their culture is diverse. The gospel has made inroads into some of these in the past 30 years.

Ministry Obstacles
Shamanistic practices remain deeply rooted among Mongols, shaping their worldview and spiritual life. These traditions can stand as barriers to the gospel and must be met with persistent prayer and faithful witness.

Scripture Focus
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him."  Lamentations 3:21-24

Scripture Prayer
Pray that soon members of today’s people group will embrace the love and compassion of the Lord. Pray that they become part of His portion.

Prayer Focus
Pray for Mongols to look to the power of the Holy Spirit instead of relying on shamans for guidance and protection. Ask God to raise up believers from every Mongol tribe who will one day stand together before the throne of Christ. Pray that the JESUS Film and other gospel resources will be translated into Mongol dialects and widely shared, bringing the message of hope into every corner of their land.
