Kusavar Kumhar (Hindu traditions) in Bangladesh
KOO-sah-var koom-HAR

The Kumhar live throughout South Asia by different surnames: Verma, Kumhar, Prajapat, Prajapati and Kumawat. The Kumhar make earthen pots, but it is very difficult for a Kumhar artisan to maintain his existence that way. They claim to be the first inventors of the wheel. They are very honest people and make their livelihood by hard work. Being Hindu, they may worship more than one god and caste is important.

Ministry Obstacles
It is difficult for any Hindu to understand that there is only one God and one way to true spirituality. This seems very narrow to them.

Scripture Focus
"But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall."  Malachi 4:2

Scripture Prayer
Pray that this people group would fear the name of the Lord and experience His healing.

Prayer Focus
Pray for better schools for Bangladesh’s Kumhar community. Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers to them in Bangladesh and India. Pray for a spiritual hunger among the Kumhars that will lead them to the cross and the empty grave. Pray for Kumhar disciples who will make more disciples.
