The word chobdar means stockholder. The Chobdar live in Rajasthan. They speak Hindi and read and write in Devanagari.
The Chobdar work in cultivation, bookbinding and tailoring. They are monogamous meaning that marriage is between one man and one woman. They allow for divorce and remarriage. They cremate their dead except for small children who are buried. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son becoming the new head of the family.
Hinduism is their religion. They have their own festivals.
The Chobdar people need the opportunity to accept the abundant life that only Jesus Christ can offer.
* Pray that Indian believers lead them to a disciple making movement. * Pray that gospel materials lead them to begin their own Bible studies. * Pray for intercessors and workers among them.
