Introduction / History
Most of the Batwal people live in Jammu and Kashmir, they also live in other far northern states such as Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana.

Their main occupations are agriculture, govt. jobs, transport, trade and commerce.

They worship Sri Guru Gyagi Ji Maharaj and other ancestral spirits.

Though a high percentage of them speak either Dogri or Chambiali, they also speak local trade languages like Punjabi, Hindi, or Kashmiri.
