Introduction / History

Until late 1800's the Yucunas were conquering neighboring tribes. Later they became involved in trading, rubber gathering, and adapted more peaceful ways, in the 1980's involved in coca-leaf trade.


Where are they Located?

SE Colombia, mostly along the Miriti-Parana river.


What are Their Lives Like?

Hunters-gatherers, slash-burning farmers.


What are Their Beliefs?

Roman Catholic mixed with traditional animism.


What are Their Needs?

Work opportunities, training opportunities for Christian leadership.
