Introduction / History

The Catalonians originated in the northeast region of Spain called Catalonia where Barcelona is located. Along with Spanish, they speak their own language, those this is becoming increasingly rare. Catalonia is the most prosperous region in Spain. They regard themselves as European rather than as Spaniards.

Catalonians have migrated to many countries in Europe and Latin America. A small number resides in the United States.

They have a reputation for being hard workers and ambitious. Most Catalonians work in industry or in service jobs. Some work in agriculture.

Football/soccer is the favorite sport among Catalonians. They like watching television and going to museums. Their cuisine often includes tomatoes, nuts, garlic, onions and mushrooms.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Most Catalonians are classed as Catholics, but few attend church regularly. Most are secular.

What Are Their Needs?

Catalonians need to understand that only Jesus Christ can satisfy their spiritual needs.
