Introduction / History

The Catalonians live in the northeast region of Spain called Catalonia and Barcelona is the main city. Catalan as well as Spanish is the spoken language here. Catalonia is the most prosperous region in Spain.

Most Catalonians are classed as Catholics but many do not go to church regularly and are secular. They regard themselves as European rather than as Spaniards. They like tomatoes, nuts, garlic, onions and mushrooms.

Most Catalonians work in industry or in service jobs. Some work in agriculture. Tourism brings in quite a lot of money too.

Football is the favorite sport among Catalonians with Barcelona as the major football club. They like watching television and going to museums.

Prayer Points

* Pray that Catalonians realize that secularism is not the answer and that they turn to Jesus Christ.
* Pray that they are given gospel materials in the Catalan language and that this would bring them to salvation.
